Hello to all my Theater Makers!

My name is Ms. Reason and I teach theater and chorus at P.S./M.S. 42Q. I have always had a love for music and using my voice to make a connection to people.

Many years ago, when I first started teaching, I had a student who was afraid to sing but tried out for a solo. Her voice was amazing! After she sang the piece during our annual Spring Concert, her parents shared that this was the first time that their daughter had shared their talent with the world. Her parents were excited and happy that she had taken that chance. It was a new beginning for her, and that kind of experience describes me, often curious to take new steps and so thankful when I do!

I am a proud NYC public school graduate and have had the opportunity to attend both Syracuse University and Queens College to obtain my higher education degrees. It makes me happy to help students find their light not only through their academic gifts but through their musical and theatrical talents. Shine, shine, shine!

I implore you to always share your voice! To my students, I look forward to each moment that we will work together this 2021-2022 school year!
